Yorkshire Sustainability Festival 2024 – The Biggest Sustainability Event in the North of England

Discover and develop the vast landscape of opportunities available for your business at the biggest sustainability event in the North of England.

More evidently, businesses and organisations are increasingly aware of the economic and environmental benefits associated with green growth, and Yorkshire Sustainability Festival (YSF) provides a welcoming platform to network, learn and evolve as a sustainable business thought-leader.

Whether you’re looking to utilise sustainable infrastructure to work towards net zero, create sustainable governance, deliver a greener business process, or just find an approach for your businesses to become more eco-friendly, the Yorkshire Sustainability Festival is an event that will inspire you for future growth. Our carefully curated festival of events has been developed to empower businesses to drive sustainable change within their business sector and catalyse local action that can be scaled to a national level, and beyond. There’s no wonder that it is pitched to be the biggest sustainability event in the North of England for 2024.

The festival has evolved from a successful 2023 and it’s going to be bigger and better, with key speakers, sponsors, panelists, and a wide range of networking opportunities; from round table discussions, fringe events and a two day sustainability conference featuring sustainably minded exhibitors, it’s not to be missed.

Sustainable Event Overview

We’re gathering the greatest number of sustainability professionals in Yorkshire to build a global sustainability network, region by region, supporting those deep in the work and those who are curious about the opportunities within the green sector. We have ties with public, private and third sector, from small start ups and individuals to large scale companies passionate about a greener future. It’s going to be the biggest sustainability event in the region.

Throughout the festival, YSF will facilitate discussion on how businesses can drive innovation and scale best practice in sustainability, while offering plenty of opportunities for networking alongside panelists and keynote speakers, such as Kevin McCloud.

The sustainability festival is comprised of the following key events:

  • 50 Events across the North of England
  • 5 Key Locations – Bradford, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield & York
  • 2 Day Conference in Leeds
  • Various Fringe Events

Yorkshire Sustainability Festival Conference

The highlight of our sustainability festival is our two day conference, held in Cloth Hall Court, Leeds, on 18th & 19th June 2024. Each day will focus on topics encompassing either Circular Economy, or Future Cities.

We believe that transitioning to a circular economy is a fundamental part of building the new sustainable world of the future, so we want to deep dive into the topic by making it the thread that runs through our conference on day one of our sustainability conference.

On day one of our sustainability event, we’ll be hearing from world renowned experts on the doughnut economics model, how AI can help us to bring to life a circular economy, what skills will be needed in a circular economy, how we create new manufacturing methods to turn ‘waste’ into a new product, and what our food system will look like in the circular economy.

Back for a second year, we’re expanding our Future Cities theme for day two as we dig deeper into the conversation around the circular economy in construction, how we move from place to place, creating truly regenerative designs, adopting new forms of energy, using ‘waste’ materials, and of course, really importantly, who’s going to do these new jobs of the future, and how we’re going to train and upskill them!

Retrofitting and creating new sustainable infrastructure in our towns and cities is a crucial part of the journey to building (literally!) a sustainable future. To build the cities of the future requires a holistic and integrated approach to urban planning and development that considers the interconnectedness of environmental, social, and economic factors. Just like day one, we will have world renowned experts in attendance, including Kevin McCloud, to discuss and help find solutions for our sustainable future cities.
